Ep 121: Be aware and be positive, with prostate cancer survivor Craig Nieset

According to zerocancer.org, an American man dies every 17 minutes from prostate cancer. That's more than 31,000 deaths a year.

One in nine American men will have prostate cancer during his lifetime, and prostate cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among American men and is the most commonly diagnosed.

But when caught early, this disease has nearly a 100-percent five-year survival rate. Today's guest, Craig Nieset, is one such survivor.

A little over a year ago in summer 2019, Craig — a father of four and avid runner — got the news that he had prostate cancer. After surgery to remove the cancer, Craig is cancer free, and he attributes much of his successful fight to being fit and active beforehand.

On today's show, Craig details his journey to battle cancer, and outlines how men should take care of themselves as well.
